Weight Watchers Week #5

It is here!!! Weigh in day!
Did I mention I had a super busy week??  Planning, decorating and running the Women's Conference for our church-whew!!  If you really want to know, I can tell you what that entails, but it is pretty tiring!  HOWEVER, God has such sustaining grace to heap upon us and I truly ENJOYED the conference and rejoiced every time God showed Himself to me in the little details AND in the big ones!
All that to say, it was a hard weekend to track my every point!  Not only that, but Friday night at the conference is DESSERT BUFFET!!  When I went to a luncheon on Friday to meet the speaker, we were served Pumpkin Cheesecake (big birthday favorite!!) but I was such a good girl and only ate 1/2!  Our in house chef (YEAH MIKE!) did such a great job with the food and it was totally WW conducive!  I had some pumpkin pie and a chocolate chip cookie, but Saturday I had yummy egg casserole and fruit, whole wheat wrap with turkey and swiss, sunchips and salad, and for dinner, a lightly breaded chicken breast, sweet potato and green beans!  I ate my piece of pumpkin roll with relish after all that good food!! It really was a pretty healthy weekend!
Monday night I was slightly hungry later in the evening, but I had a date with the scale tonight, so  I pushed through it and didn't indulge!  I love that accountability of the SCALE!!
SO HOW MUCH DID YOU LOSE?? You are asking.  I am just so proud I am rambling!!!
4.4 pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I reached my first goal, too, which means I have to lose a point a day, but I am ready!  I told you last week I was determined, and I still am!  I have lost a grand total of 13.4 pounds in 5 weeks!  It is so incredibly awesome, and not incredibly hard!  I just needed to pay attention to what I was doing.  I haven't done that in the last 11 years-I've been paying attention to the kids wholeheartedly.  Certainly there are days it is still hard to eat well, but I am improving my choices a LOT!  I found out how many points are in boxed Macaroni and Cheese and prefer to avoid it now. However, I simply didn't have time to make 2 lunches today, so I had exactly 1 cup of it and was satisfied for 3 hours-along with a very tall cup of water and a banana.  I hate bananas, but I am willing to eat one if it will fill me and help me lose weight!!  I hope this is an encouragement to you if you are working on weight loss, too!  It took me 12 years to put on all this weight, but it certainly shouldn't take that long to get it off with Weight Watchers helping me out!

     Have a GREAT HARVEST WEEK!!!

Weight Watchers-Midweek Check In

I am not even to weigh in night, but I am hopeful.  I think I was so busy running around getting the conference ready and running it that I used up lots of calories-expecially the pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake and pumpkin roll desserts that I had over the course of 2 days.  BUT, I didn't eat all of them OR I only had a little piece.  Changes are afoot!!  More on this Tuesday night after class!

Weight Watchers Week #4

Super busy week with chairing Women's Conference this weekend!!  I did NOT lose weight this week!  Bummer!  However, I didn't gain either!  I am not going to be discouraged!  It has been a super busy week, a bit stressful(not too much, don't worry!) and I had Leah's birthday-super yummy cake!!  So, I should be thrilled.  Isn't it amazing I could stay on the exact 10th of a pound, too?  That is crazy!  Both my friend Cindi and I came out dead even from the week before!
I stayed late to talk to my WW leader and she evaluated my food choices.  Apparently I really HAVE to eat 5 fruits and veggies a day.  She wants me to add variety to my daily diet and not have 3 big meals-which is me-I am not a big snacker.
I heard at class last night that it takes most people 6-7 weeks to meet their first goal.  I have only been trying for 4 weeks, so I am on a good track!  Like I said, I am very determined and not discouraged!  If you are doing this too, keep up the good work.  I remind myself all the time, it took 11 years and 6 kids to put this weight on, it won't come back off overnight!

Leah is turning 3!!!

I can't believe my baby girl is turning 3 tomorrow!  I am glad we are done with being 2 though, she was a tough nut to crack.  We still have our moments, but she is coming along just fine!  Leah is my personality plus girl!  She is full volume, full smile and full hair!!  I love my little LeLe, and I think everyone in the family does--or else they wouldn't give her what she wants when she screams at them. :-)

Leah is having a "Double Delight" birthday party on her special day with her favorite cousin, Rachel!  They are 3 years apart but they love each other so much!  We are combining Rachel's love of flowers and pink with Leah's love of The Little Mermaid(Nername she says) and the color orange.  Since there are two families throwing the party, it seemed like a cheaper way to invest in a bounce house, so we are having one of those, too!  It should be a little girl's dream party!  I am so excited for her!
So my little Leah-girl will be three, and I think it is going to be a GREAT year!!
Thank you, God, for our Leah Abigail Wragg!

Weight Watchers Week #3

I am throwing out my scale this week!  It is such a liar!  I would have been OK with this week's weight loss-because it was LOSS-but my scale at home said I lost a lot-like 5 pounds-and when I got to WW, it was only 1.8!  I felt a little ripped off, but then I said, OK, what can I do to lose more?   I will NOT let this get me down!! I lost almost 2 pounds!
So, it is officially time to MAKE time to (I hate to say this) EXERCISE!!  So, I will bump the school schedule even later and start getting 7 pairs of shoes into gear every morning and walk the 2 blocks to the park.  The kids really do love to run around the park while I walk AROUND it!  It will make ALL of us happy.  Dan will just be doing his math until 4pm, but he never really complained about that before anyways! :-)
Grand total: 9.4 pounds.   HOORAY!!  Next week will certainly be my 10 pound goal!

Civil War Thoughts

Sarah was telling her siblings about the good and bad of the Civil War, then asked them if they were Yankees or Confederates. Jacob said he wanted to be a Cardinal. . .
