Surprising Even Myself

If some of you could be a fly on the wall of my life, I think you just might be shocked and lose your grip!  I am surprised even myself!  For 5 months I was able to lose weight on the Weight Watchers plan without a single day of exercise! Not one week did I gain, just loss after loss.  I was super excited that this plan was doable without exercise.  Than I hit that big fat wall called: If you don't exercise, you won't be getting rid of any more pounds!  I stared at that wall for well over a month I'm sure!  On the wall I could see the past grafitti I had written saying, "There's NO WAY!  I can't!  I am too busy as a mom/teacher/wife/etc."

So after weeks of staring at the wall, I finally looked for a foothold and handhold and tried again.

I started by walking right after dinner with the WHOLE family.  7 pairs of shoes, bicycles, scooter, wagon or stroller.  It was work, but I was doing it!!!  Then I tried the Wii fit for a while, but you can only push so much there.  Then I tried a Biggest Loser DVD and hated that-ugh!  25 reps of one boring move??   Though I might try it again now that I am stronger. . . . .

So here I am and this is where you lose your grip on the wall of thinking you know me and you fall on the ground.  I NOW EXERCISE 6 DAYS A WEEK!!!!!  What?  Is this really Jill Wragg?  Hmmm, sometimes I even question!  I have been working out for 6 days a week for almost 2 months now!  Once ERin and I hooked up as exercise buddies, we would walk around the Publix parking lot 3 days a week when Marc was is the house sleeping.  The other 3 days when Marc was gone to work, she came-and still comes-to do a Weight Watchers PUNCH! DVD with me!  On May 1st Marc and I started our "Summer Membership" at the Plantation Golf and Tennis Country Club.  I now have access to a gym for "free" for me and my guests which opens at ***DRUMROLL*** 5 am!!  We get there at the late hour of 5:30, do 30-40 minutes of interval training, then 15-20 minutes on the elliptical machines, frequently followed by some stretching out-if we aren't rushing home to our babies!

When Marc goes to the big jr. olypic pool at Plantation with us, I get to swim laps as he plays with the kids.  He is definitely all in when it comes to helping me achieve my weight loss and fitness goals and it so sweet since I am usually so exhausted at night by the time he gets home at the end of the week.

The main drawback to this hectic new workout schedule is my need for daily power naps, but some days I lay down with Jacob or Leah or Lizzy and that is SO worth it!  I also tend to drink more coffee (whoever said exercise gives you more energy didn't have 6 kids they were homeschooling and a MIA husband 3 days a week!) now that I am up before Mr. Sun!

Shocked yet?  I am!  I never thought I could do it, and odds are, I couldn't without all the factors coming together as God has allowed them!  I praise Him for His work in me-HE has given me this determination!  He sustains me and is continuing to teach me as I am in the press of less patience and fatigue to lose these 47 lbs I've shed!  But there is no way Jill Wragg could ever have done this discipline without my Lord getting me up each morning, often, even before my alarm!

     Soli DEO Gloria!
