I was thinking lately how my updates (besides Weight Watchers) are all pictures and little commentary. I think that I have been so much busier since we moved that I have not had the energy to think straight or to write anything worth reading. So in a way I was sparing you :-).
There is so much to say about our move and our new life. This past Thursday passed the 3 month mark in this new stage of life-this move across the state. I am amazed 3 months have passed! The busyness is mostly here at home. Marc is here Thursday night to first light on Tuesday morning. This marks one part of our week. The other part is 60 hours of single mom time. It used to be more when we first moved here, so the 60 hour thing is NICE!!
Starting January 3rd the kids and I hit the school books--HARD! We had done little school for the last 6 weeks of 2010 and had a lot of time to make up for. We have been diligently working to accomplish school every single day and have, except for one week of Papa and Grammy's visit here in February/March. We called that Spring Break! Sarah and Daniel and I are enjoying our studies of an 1805 early American boy, learning all about the work done to take wild woods and turn it into a useful farm/homestead/ We have read through slavery, a Lincoln biography and are in the midst of the Civil War. The kids are reading heavily, but also enjoying the Wii that we purchased back in November.
On Tuesday nights they have a sitter and a movie night while I run to my Weight Watchers meeting. On Thursday mornings we all head out to Bible Study where the kids roam and play on 5 acres with most of the other children from church. We usually catch McDonald's happy-meal special that day before running an errand since we are out and about. Fridays we have piano lessons half and hour away. When we moved here I could only get lessons with a half hour break in between! So one kid would go, then we'd go do something that usually cost me money, then run back for piano lesson #2. Now I can have all 3 kids take 20 minute lessons in a row! This gives me a great chunk to walk laps around the building and since Marc is home on Fridays, it is baby and toddler free time!
Another aspect is the whole "how to order the cleaning of the new house and layout." This is still quite a work-in-progress! We have a ton of carpet here which is already turning a new darker color and tight rooms with lots of beds, dressers and TOYS! There is constant pick up going on!!! At the other house the toys mostly stayed in the playroom. I now realize what an IMMENSE blessing that was! I am not complaining(too loudly), just saying how we are trying to get the hang of this house all the while trying to homeschool like worker bees. Did I mention Gabriel cut out his morning nap when we moved here... yeah, we also have an 18 month old running around, getting into unlatched cupboards and drizzling bubble bath on the carpet. What a joy!
So ends my commentary on being so busy. I even left half of it out. I just realized that I am super tired and sounding it, so I will sign off for now!
